Day 16: A little confession.....

Dear Family-

I have a small confession to make.....sitting down? I have been taking cereal from the mess hall! I am not proud, but the cereal you can buy here SAYS it is the same, but it is not. Luckily for me, the mess hall stocks huge bins of cereal for breakfast, etc.

As you can see, these little cereal cups are the real thing! No Arabic writing or any of that other stuff you can not understand. They are coming in handy for snacks or for that matter, breakfast. It is the simple things in life that you miss.

Love you all!

Just Another Day In Paradise...

No dogs peed in the house - a good thing.

Cat slept on the couch for five hours without moving - a good thing.

Birds chirped all afternoon - a good thing

Schoolwork is done - a good thing.

PE is done - a good thing.

Buttercup hit a brick wall and a palm tree and is, apparently, an awesome cobra - all good things.

Valiant and a buddy saved a bunch of Marines on an off-world assignment from an alien scourge - a very good thing (according to him).

Hit Costco this evening so we'll have milk for the morning - a very good thing.

Thank you's are finally done - a good thing, but embarrassingly late.

Yep, just another day in paradise.

Halo

Halo is a First person shooter game in which you are are Spartan 2 super-soldier who is genetically modified and wearing a combat suit. You begin the game with your character, Known as the Master Chief, coming out of cryo-sleep on board The Pillar of Autumn that is being attacked by the covenant, a group of aliens bent on the destruction of humans. You then proceed to reek havoc on the covenant boarding party's and meet up with marines and an A.I. known as Cortana and escape on a landing pod which crashes on a recently discovered object and you black out . You have landed/crashed on a ring like object that the covenant call halo. You fight and fight and fight and then when it seems like your winning...you fight some more. You discover a parasite known as the flood, it basically kills things then enters there body and makes them jello like and then uses the body to kill more people. You eventually find and object called the index and almost activate the ring which you believe to be a device to stop the flood. Right before you activate the ring Cortana appears and says no don't and explains to you that the ring simply destroys the floods food, which is anything living. So you say hey I am living and proceed to make your escape. You then get the idea to blow up the wreckage that is the crashed Pillar of Autumns main reactor, which is like blowing up a pile of hydrogen bombs. So you fight hoards of flood who's spores are known as Lima beans. Plus an army of elites , grunts and jackals. You eventually blow up the core and have to escape before it blows up, so you hop in the waiting warthog and drive to a longsword Space ship docked inside the ship . Unfortunately you don't get to fly it or the pelican drop ship.

Arguing Via Email?

Hmmm...I think we just had our first email tiff. Very strange.
(Daisy and Lucy after their baths...)

We have two dogs: one is a Lab mix, but we don't know what she is mixed with (her name is Lucy) and our other one is pure bred Golden Retriever (her name is Daisy). Daisy is eight, getting cataracts and has always been lazy. Lucy, on the other hand, is the complete opposite, she will get up and run when she hears car keys jingle. Lucy will run super fast to get her ball, but Daisy will look at the ball flying over her head and say, "You expect me to chase after that?" That's what our dogs are like. Exciting, huh?

Doctor Skype

So almost every time we turn on Doctor Who Some body Skype's or calls, but really its most TV or movies. Last night we turned on MI1 and right as the music starts we get a skype and phone call. It was really funny I mean we start and then doo-noo-noo doo-noo-noo skype chat, then ring-ring who's calling. So yes funny.

First Post!

I was invited by the Queen to be a guest blogger and I jumped at the chance. I think that this will be a cool way to stay in contact with each other, especially if (fingers crossed) I get this job to go to Japan.
We here at school are almost finished with our January Term Break, which is this awesome six-day weekend between January and Spring Terms. All the people that were gone for the past few days have come back, and so campus is finally coming out of the weird empty state it was in over break. I thought break was going to be over today, but the Powers that Be decided that us mortals got another day off. This is great, since my tuition is in line, my books are all paid for, and I'm entering this last semester in good form. I have all of tomorrow to just hang out with my college friends; no homework, no job, nothing but a day of fun. Needless to say I'm looking forward to it.
Anyways, I'll try to post here every day, so... stay tuned!
