Life At Home

Daisy and Lucy went to the groomer. I had Daisy trimmed up like a Lab so I'll have less fur to vacuum as winter rolls around and the dogs are in the house more. As you can see, Buttercup thinks her girls are beautiful (and, based on their smiling faces, the dogs are happy, too). Me, I'm just glad they smell better!

Having a Man Around the House...

...makes mowing lawns easier.

(Helping Daddy - June 26, 2002)

As the result of unforeseen circumstances, Valiant was unable to fulfill his mowing obligation for Miss Sue.  In the old days, you would have come home from work and headed over to make it happen.  In our new world, we're still sticking together, but we're rolling a bit differently.

 (July 26, 2010 - 8 years and 1 month later)

Yep, Buttercup begged and learned to operate the mower, so she got to collect the paycheck.

And yet, the transformation is only skin deep...

...when she saw the previous post, Buttercup immediately launched into this:

Yeah, Mom, but when Dad gets back, he's going to say one Bart-joke and I'll be gone.

Then she proceeds to recite the following, verbatim:

Moe: Hello, Moe's Tavern. Birthplace of the Rob Roy.
Bart: Is Seymour there? Last name Butz.
Moe: Just a sec. Hey, is there a Butz here? Seymour Butz? Hey, everybody! I wanna see more butts!

At that point, she cracked herself up to the point that she could no longer speak.

Pretty on the outside and Bart Simpson on the inside...I guess it could be worse!

No Fear...

Obviously, no one has told Bean that cats don't like to be on their backs.

She and Buttercup played like this for at least ten minutes.

For those of you who found yourself completely confused!

By Superman's post below.

The back story is that we were discussing our soon-to-be-graduated-from-college son's plans for the future and Superman was talking about how we don't have "doctor/lawyer" expectations for our children. We want them to be educated and then to find something they love doing.

(Pretty typical conversation, right?)

Then, out of the blue, Superman says to all of us (who were on Skype): "If Buttercup grows up, goes to college, and then ends up living in the forest talking to Squirrels, I'll be happy."

I started cracking up, Buttercup said, "I didn't know I wanted to live in the forest talking to squirrels." Valiant, of course, ran with it and started calling her the "squirrel whisperer". And Superman had to replay what he said to figure out what had us all in stitches.

Make sense now? Yes, I thought a little back story would help!

P.S. He did rearrange his furniture: Couch is under the window, loveseat is where the couch was and the chair has its back to the dining area. Looks much better and makes much better use of the space.

Hamsters,Bunnies and Pigs Oh my!

I LOVE hamsters , bunnies
and pigs, I have a collection of pigs, but instead of calling it a collection I call it a pig pen, in my pig pen I have seven pigs, two are piggy banks, one is a little pet shop, two are stuffed and two are robotic. And I have a real hamster! I have had five hamsters including the one I have right now,her name is Biscuit (I call her Bis-Quick) and she is a Syrian hamster. When I was two I got Bunny and he is an adorable little stuffed rabbit!!. So yup these are my FAVORITE!, but I still have so many other animals that I really like.

Today

Today we went to Costco, (and brought the dogs with us) and on the way there we each got a doughnut and I got Cinnamon roll and it was so GOOD! and after we went to Costco we went to Borders and while we were in Borders Lucy peed in my seat! I was so mad at her, and when we got home I had to take a damp washcloth with soap and scrub them because they rolled in the pee!.Well after I cleaned the dogs I went inside and did Wii fit for half an hour,oh yeah guess what Dad? I've done ten hours on Wii fit and my piggy fit bank turned bronze! isn't that cool?! and if I get ten more hours I get a bonus piggy fit bank!,so yup that's how my day went. Love you Dad, yours truly, But-cup.

Didn't want you to think we were letting your side cool off.
