Our local library system is part of the NEA's "Big Read" and the moderator for our local homeschooling group's Adolescent Literature Seminar timed our selection to coincide with the Big Read event in our area. Our kids read and discussed "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee (and many watched the 1962 movie by the same name). We actually met at a coffee shop called Atticus Gift and Coffee Shop, which is right next door to Boo Radley's, so we were definitely in the mood.
The local librarians were holding their event following our discussion time, so the kids each got their own copy of the book. Pretty neat, eh?
Great book, great movie, and wonderful opportunity.
P.S. Buttercup took a book to send to you..she said if you take care of it, you can give it back and she'll put in her library when you get back.

It sounds like you guys had a great time with the book club. I started reading it on the computer, but I have found that reading a novel online lacks the same feeling as holding a book in your hand. I am glad that you are sending me a copy. I will take great care of it.
